    WHAT IS BECONASE HAYFEVER NASAL SPRAY?

    Beconase Hayfever Relief for Adults Nasal Spray is a highly effective medication for treating hayfever. Unlike tablets it works right where the problem starts, in the nose.

    Beconase Hayfever Relief for Adults Nasal Spray contains the steroid beclomethasone which has an anti-inflammatory action which quickly brings relief from allergy symptoms such as: Nasal congestion, watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes, itchy nose, red eyes, sinus discomfort.

    HOW TO TAKE BECONASE HAYFEVER NASAL SPRAY?

    Adults aged 18 or over: Two sprays into each nostril every morning and evening. Once your symptoms have improved you may be able to reduce the dose to one spray into each nostril morning and evening.

    If you forget a dose just continue to take the next dose at the normal time and do not double up to make up for the missed dose.

    Spray the bottle well before use and ensure it is only used in the nose. Do not swallow.

    ARE THERE ANY UNDESIRED SIDE-EFFECTS WHILST TAKING BECONASE HAYFEVER NASAL SPRAY?

    Like all medicines, Beconase nasal spray can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Certain side effects include, noticing an unpleasant smell or taste, nose bleeds and dryness or irritation of the nose or throat.

    To reduce the chances of developing side effects it is important to adhere to the recommended dose and not use the medication for prolonged periods of time without speaking with your doctor. Do not use more than 8 sprays within a 24 hour period. If your symptoms do not improve after using this medication regularly for 7 days, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

    WHAT ARE SOME OF THE CAUTIONS?

    • Not for use in children or adolescents under 18 years.
    • Do not use more than 4 sprays in each nostril in a day, or for more than one month continuously without consulting your doctor.
    • Consult your Doctor before use, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if your symptoms have not improved after using the spray for 7 days.
    • Keep out of the sight and reach of children

    As with all medications Beconase has the potential to interact with other medications. Therefore before taking this medication you should consult with your doctor or pharmacist to ensure it is suitable for you to take.

    DOES BECONASE HAYFEVER NASAL SPRAY CAUSE DROWSINESS?

    This medication is unlikely to cause drowsiness and therefore it is safe to operate machinery or drive whilst using this product.

    CAN I USE THIS SPRAY WITH MY ANTIHISTAMINE TABLETS?

    Yes, it is common to combine use of a steroid nasal spray such as Beconase and antihistamine tablets (such as Clarityn or Fexofendine) to control your hayfever symptoms if required.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
