    WHAT IS LAMISIL AT 1% CREAM?

    Lamisil AT 1% cream contains the active ingredient terbinafine which is an anti-fungal.

    Terbinafine is used to treat fungal skin infections such as athletes foot and jock itch.

    Lamisil AT cream is recommended for athletes foot when it occurs between the toes.

    HOW TO USE LAMISIL AT 1% W/W CREAM?

    For athletes foot and jock itch, apply the cream once a day for one week.

    Wash and dry the affected area thoroughly and also wash your hands.

    Apply a thin layer of cream on the affected skin and surrounding areas.

    Rub in gently and then wash your hands.

    Even though you will only be using Lamisil AT cream for one week, full skin healing will continue for up to 4 weeks.

    If symptoms have not shown signs of improvement within 2 weeks of starting improvement, please consult your GP.

     

    WHAT ARE SOME OF THE CAUTIONS?

    Do not use Lamisil AT cream if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the cream.

    Not recommended for use on children under 16 years of age.

    Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding unless advised by your GP.

    Lamisil AT 1% cream contains 36mg of benzyl alcohol which may cause allergic reactions.

    It also contains cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol which may cause local skin reactions.

    WHAT ARE SOME OF THE SIDE-EFFECTS?

    Like all medications, Lamisil At 1% cream can cause side-effects, although not all patients will experience these.

    Stop using the medicine and seek medical help immediately if you have any of these rare allergic reactions:
    • Difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue or throat.
    • Severe itching of the skin with a red rash, hives or blisters.

    These side-effects are common and usually harmless and you can continue to use the cream:
    • skin peeling
    • itching
    • skin colour changes
    • irritation at the site of application.
