The two morning after pills (ellaOne and Levonelle) have different timings:

  • ellaOne must be taken within 120 hours (five days) of having unprotected sex.
  • Levonelle must be taken within 72 hours (three days) of having unprotected sex.

Do not delay ‒ the earlier you take the pill, the more likely it is to work. You should take the morning after pill exactly as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist.
