WHAT IS BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS?
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a common condition that a woman can suffer from where there’s been a change in the natural balance of bacteria in the vagina.
Healthy vaginas are usually acidic due to the presence of certain good bacteria. But if there is a decrease in the good bacteria, this could result in growth of other bacteria which can cause an episode of BV.
Symptoms of BV includes unusual vaginal discharge, odour and discomfort.
WHAT IS BALANCE ACTIV BV TREATMENT GEL?
Balance Activ BV treatment gel provides clinically proven relief from vaginal discharge, odour and discomfort.
It restores and reserves the natural pH of the vagina thus relieving BV. Balance Activ uses lactic acid to restore the natural pH of the vaginal and vaginal flora.
Glycogen is another component which provides nutrients to encourage the growth of lactobacilli which is a good bacteria that helps to maintain a healthy balance in the vagina.
Balance Activ has been shown to be as effective as antibiotics to relieve BV symptoms and is safe to use during pregnancy and menstruation.
HOW TO USE BALANCE ACTIV BV TREATMENT GEL?
It is best to use the gel at bedtime when lying down in a comfortable position. This helps it stay in place and can reduce leakage.
Twist off the cap and insert the whole neck of the tube into the vagina, and squeeze out the gel.
Remove the tube whilst continuing to squeeze and discard.
There may be a slight leakage, so it may be useful to wear a panty liner. Even though, some of the product might leak, it is still working effectively.
To relieve BV – use 1 tube daily for 7 days before bedtime.
To maintain healthy vaginal pH levels – if you notice recurrence of symptoms or suspect your vaginal pH is not normal, you can use Balance Activ to help restore vaginal pH and vaginal flora by using 1 tube daily for 7 days.
